Our Vineyards

Hawk Watch Winery. Our Vineyard

Following the natural contour of our landscape while weaving their way through boulders, outcroppings and massive rock formations, our vineyards provide a beautiful lush foreground against a backdrop of spectacular soaring mountains. Planted at just over 3,200 feet in elevation our low-yielding vineyards provide fruit that is aromatic, intense and concentrated. Hand planted and tended by my wife and I, these vines are our babies.

Ribbonwood Vineyard: Planted in 2004 to two different types of Sauvignon Blanc. Clone 1 provides earthy, grassy and herbal components while Sauvignon Musque provides intense aromatics, melon and citrus notes. This vineyard rarely provides more than 1.5 tons per acre, and as such the fruit quality is absolutely outstanding.

Radar Ridge Vineyard: Planted in 2003 and 2004 primarily to Syrah clones 470 and Estrella River, this vineyard produces deeply colored, rich, intense fruit that allows us to produce wines of incredible depth, structure and complexity.

4 Foot Block: Planted in 2003 and 2004 our Orange Muscat vineyard is the smallest single-variety vineyard on our property, however it is one of the most beautiful as you literally drive through the vines on the way to our winery and tasting room.
